Just as understanding our products relies on knowing our vineyards, to know our vineyards means we need to understand the surrounding natural world. At Avinyó, caring for the natural world is something we are concerned about. Nature is a part of us and, therefore, we must preserve it.
A PATH TO COMMITMENT
To make a commitment is to decide upon a path. For us, it is a path that is not only ours but the result of a legacy handed down over many generations, which has established a way of relating to the land, how to take care of it and how to appreciate it. There is no good fruit if we don’t know how to listen to the land, and to understand it as a whole.
RESPECTING WHAT WE LOVE
Coherent with our commitment to the path we have chosen, we are certified organic agricultural producers. We use pheromones and organic composting to maintain biological balance in our vineyards, to bring them to their fullest expression.
RESOURCE CONSCIOUS
There would be little point to organic agriculture if we were not striving for sustainability throughout the whole process. In taking advantage of the resources that nature provides us we try to complete the circle, because we understand it as a cycle of life. Using pruning shoots to generate energy through biomass is just one of our sustainability actions, which we have been engaged in since 2009.
BEYOND THE VINEYARDS
The vineyards are not only the vines, but also the surrounding vegetation, the trees and the forests that grow alongside and the animals that live in them. Therefore, at Avinyó, we respect and support the biodiversity that allows us to understand our vineyards as a whole, and as part of a unique and extraordinary living environment.
