Origin:
Can Fontanals. Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada vines planted between 1978 and 1988, trellis-grown, with a yield of 10,000–12,000 kg/ha per year. The soils are deep, well-drained with a loamy and silt loam texture, with small accumulations of calcium carbonate, which ensure a balanced harvest even in years of drought.
Harvest:
Unlike the previous year, it was a very placid campaign. It rained when it should and the weather respected us in the most delicate moments, this being a year of minimal intervention in the vineyard. Year of moderate rainfall (basically in Autumn and Spring), milt temperatures and not very hot summer, this significantly delayed ripening and therefore the start of the harvest. We started between 8-10 days later than what had been usual, thus favoring maduration. With a very balanced degree of acidity and pH, it was one of the best vintages in recent years. Moderate production and excellent quality.
